Indxdb didn't start in a product workshop. It started in a project office, where the same data problem kept showing up across mining capital programmes — and we kept building bits of a solution to make our own work possible. After enough years, it was a platform.
Mventech was founded in 2018 to deliver management, engineering and operational excellence to mining companies. Our work has always been hands-on — sitting in project offices, modelling capital portfolios, writing the steering committee paper that has to land.
Across that work, a pattern kept repeating. Every mining client had the same problem: enormous volumes of project data, no live view of it, weeks of manual effort to produce reports that were stale by the time they landed. Each engagement started by rebuilding the same Power BI scaffolding. Each handover left clients with a tool they couldn't maintain.
Indxdb is the productisation of that delivery experience. The benchmarks come from real projects we've worked on. The report templates are the ones we kept rebuilding by hand. The Resource Modeller is the spreadsheet we kept reaching for, finally turned into something defensible. The Portal is what we wished Power BI had felt like all along.
It's practitioner software — built by the people who needed it, used by them first, sold to others second.
Mining is a global industry and so is our team. From iron ore in Western Australia to copper in South America, gold in West Africa to platinum in the Bushveld — our delivery footprint is wherever the projects are.
Indxdb is one of three things Mventech does. Understanding the other two helps explain why Indxdb is the way it is.
EPCM, project management offices, virtual delivery offices, energy and engineering programmes for major mining clients. The on-the-ground work that generates the project data Indxdb organises.
Analytics and value driver modelling, business case modelling, technology specification and selection. The strategy work that defines what good reporting actually looks like.
Everything we kept rebuilding across engineering and improvement engagements — packaged, productised, deployable. Indxdb is what twelve years of consulting taught us we needed.
Established to deliver management, engineering and operational excellence to mining and resources clients. Headquartered in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Mventech delivers across base metals, precious metals and coal — building the practical project intelligence that would later become Indxdb's data ecosystem.
Multiple major mining clients ask for the same thing — a productised version of what Mventech keeps building. Internal investment in Indxdb begins.
Indxdb deployed to deliver project intelligence for a Tier 1 mining client. The white-label, multi-tenant architecture proves out in production.
The internal resourcing tool Mventech consultants had been using on engagements becomes a productised module inside Indxdb.
Indxdb is brought to market as its own product, with Mventech as the credibility backing. Now selling to mining companies, EPCs, and project services consultancies globally.
If you've ever read a software company's "values" page and felt nothing, fair enough. These are different — they're the operating constraints that decide what we build and what we won't.
Every feature in Indxdb has been used by Mventech consultants on a real engagement before it shipped to clients. If we wouldn't use it ourselves, we don't ask you to.
We're built on Microsoft's stack — Power BI, Azure, Entra ID. Not because it's exciting, but because every IT department already knows it, every security review already approves it, and it works.
If the platform isn't generating value within two weeks of contract signature, something has gone wrong. We build for time-to-value, not time-on-client-site.
We tell you what's in the box and what isn't. We don't oversell, we don't promise integrations we can't deliver, and we don't dress up consulting work as platform features.
Your clients, your users, your board — they shouldn't know or care that Indxdb exists. White-label is the whole point. We're the engine. You're the brand.
Always. On exit, you take it. We don't lock you in with proprietary formats or migration penalties. The moat is the platform working well, not your inability to leave.
